Armando Hernandez passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 66. He was known for his sense of humor, his deep love for his family, and, of course, his passion for the Chiefs. He especially enjoyed teasing Dallas Cowboys fans. He was born in Morton, Texas, on December 20, 1959, to Irene and Sixto Hernandez. He worked as a Contract Manager at Reese Air Force Base for over 10 years, where he was instrumental in establishing their recycling program. He also owned and operated Big A’s Containers for 20 years until his retirement. Armando was married to Elsa Hernandez, the love of his life, for 48 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sylvia Hernandez; and his granddaughter, Faith Hernandez.
He is survived by his wife, Elsa; his son, Bill Hernandez (Crystal); his daughter, Amanda Hernandez; his brothers, Rudy (Angie), Luis (Vanessa), and Gabriel; and his sister, Irma Solano. He is also survived by his nine grandchildren: Gabrielle Hurtado (Silas), Gage Hernandez (Joseph), Zoe Hernandez, Bailey, Taylor, Harleigh, and Adaleigh Moreno; and his great-granddaughter, Camilla.
At Armando’s request, there will be no funeral services. The family asks that you honor his memory by cherishing the moments you shared with him and holding them close to your heart.
