Antonio Avila 70, of Lubbock Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2023. Antonio, fondly known as Tony, was born to Elias and Esther Avila, on August 28, 1952, in Praxedis, Mexico. Tony lived and worked in Southeast New Mexico for most of his life. He was a self-starter who could complete anything he set his mind to with tenacious persistence and hard work. Tony had his own successful agricultural spraying and trucking business for many years. During this time, he made long lasting connections. No matter the situation, you could always count on Tony's help when something needed doing. In his own special way, this usually included an hour-long story about the problem at hand. Throughout his life, Tony touched the lives of many. His kindness, generosity, dedication, and guidance will be remembered by all those who knew him. Tony will be greatly missed. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his loved ones who will carry his spirit with them.

Tony is survived by his wife Clarissa, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Jason Avila (Amanda Herrington, Legacy and Madden), Chyanne Lee (Jorden) Zayden, Zane, Zuri, Zia), Sabrina Avila (Greysin) Bella, Greylynn, Kalvin) and Adreanna Avila (Alyanah). Lawrence Avila (Victor Velasquez (Karla) Esperanza, Victor, Anahi), Tristen Velasquez and Lorenzo Avila). Angie Avila-Quigley (Ryan) Theodore Quigley and Samantha Quigley). Iris Moyron, Yasmin Martinez, Noelia Juarez, and Mateo Avila. He is also survived by his siblings and families, Jose Avila, Elias Avila, Beatrice Urioste, Irene Velez, Juanita Utegea, Daniel Avila, Abel Avila, Apollonio Avila, and Lily Avila.

Tony was predeceased by his parents Esther and Elias.

Tony's family will host a funeral service on Friday 28th 2023. The service will be at House of Angels Funeral Home, 1928 34th St., Lubbock, TX. Visitation will be from 10 am to 9 pm, with an evening service at 7:00 pm. Cremation services are under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home.
