Antonia (Garcia) Sanchez, 71, of Lubbock, passed away on Monday, June 21, 2021, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 5, 1949 in Spur, Texas to the late Jose and Josefa (Mendolla) Garcia. She married Ernesto Sanchez on April 27, 1967 in Lubbock, Texas and together they began their family. Antonia was a member of the Women's League of Lubbock and an avid member of the Lubbock Salvation Army. She enjoyed being a part of the summer camp ministry in Midothian, Texas. Antonia was a selfless, caring person, she was always helping others no matter what the need. She was a very proud grandmother and enjoyed her time with her grandchildren. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Ernesto Sanchez; four children, Ernesto Sanchez, Jr. and wife Alice, Gloria Villarreal and her husband Johnny, Samuel Sanchez and wife Molly and Esteban Sanchez Aka. Spankdog; four siblings, Maria Ramirez, Juan Garcia and wife stella, Josie Martinez and husband Santos and Pete Garcia and wife Beatrice; one sister-in-law, Toni Garcia; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Antonia is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Josefa Garcia; three siblings, Joe Garcia, Guadalupe Garcia and Connie Rodriguez. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021, from 4:00 – 9:00 P.M. with family receiving friends from 6:00P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army of Lubbock. The family would also like to say a special thank you to all of the staff at Hospice of Lubbock.
