Obituary

Annie (Jimenez) Soto, 67, of Lubbock, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her family on Saturday, February 24, 2024. She was born on February 20, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona to Moses and Maria (Hinojosa) Jimenez. Annie was a woman that had such a big heart, she was so loving and caring to everyone she knew. She was a person who always had love and forgiveness to give, regardless of the situation. Annie loved to cook, and she was amazing at it, her family says. She also taught anyone and everyone that would listen, her tips and tricks for making her amazing food. Annie had a green thumb, she loved to rescue plants and gardens. Her family says she would pick out a plant that you would assume was already dead, and the plant would be alive and beautiful within the next week. Annie married Abel Soto in December of 1993, and together their families grew up sharing and making so many memories. Annie loved Jesus; she was a very devoted Christian. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and she will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 30 years, Abel; children, Daniel Rosales, Ricky Cantu, Sussie Cantu, and Olga Martinez; siblings, Mary Grace Jimenez, Helen Angie Vazquez, Elena Sanchez, Joe Jimenez, Luis Jimenez, Sylvia Tenorio, Carlos Jimenez; 16 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
